Breaking the Block

Breaking into print for the first time is one of the hardest challenges an indie writer faces. The first rejection letter can often discourage a writer from pursuing other options. With the widespread use of e-readers, purchasing books has never been easier as well as the ease of delivering your story to your readers. Self-publication can be intimidating and a lot of writers don't know where to start. We can help.

As freelance writers who have struggled through our own challenges, our team can sympathize and guide you on your journey through the development of your writing.  Our skilled team can assist you whether you write fiction novels, poetry, academic papers, personal writing; or website content,  We also feature services that cover your business needs, or students who want to further develop their skills in the English language; native or non-native English writers (ESL).

Among our many services offered, individual support and attention to all of our clients is our highest priority.  We strive to connect with our clients in so that their true potential can be reached.

Julie Stanley
Founder and CEO

I am an award winning poet having won Presidential Awards for Literary Excellence, five honorable mentions, and  recognized for my poetry in various anthologies.  I am also published internationally.  I have worked closely with ESL writers at a content writing firm in Pakistan. With over fifty articles and poems under my belt,  my experience tutoring nearly thirty individuals in English and creative writing, I can assist any and all individuals in their creative writing needs.

I am the  co-author of Fire and Water: a collection of poetry with fellow poet Aramey.  My debut novel, Faces in Still Waters, was published November 2013  I have a number of other books in the works including an epic-style poetic novella, Irony, Karma, and Fate Walk into a Bar, Chasing The Red, Chronicles of a Dog-Eared Poet, and The Tale of Dagda Forlorn Brock-a satrical novel reminiscent of Terry Pratchett and Robert Asprin.   For more information on my personal writing, visit The Writing of J.V. Stanley Official Website.

Aside from editing and writing, I am also the Development and Marketing Director for Miracle E-zine and have been writing the review column, On The Bookshelf  for the past year and a half.

I hold a BFA in English and Communications from University of Phoenix.  I plan to work toward my MFA in Creative writing through the Univeristy of Southern New Hampshire starting February 2015.

My penchant for helping others morphed into a dream of running my own online editing service to help other writers.  I have worked as an editor for the past seventeen years and have since developed a reputation for quality services devoted to personalized one-on-one assistance to writers of all genres.

I have a passion for poetry and connecting with the very talented individuals I works with.   My many talents include oil painting, graphic design, and Do-it-Yourself remodeling in her home in Upper Michigan where I lives with my fiance and two young children.
